  1. ADB Funds Agricultural Value Chains

    The Government of India and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed an agreement for the second tranche (US $ 24.3 million) under the US $ 170 million Agribusiness Infrastructure Development Investment Programme which is a multi-tranche financing facility.

    The loan is to continue modernization efforts in Maharashtra state’s horticultural industries and will expand agricultural value chains and better integrate small-scale farmers into value chains in Nashik and Aurangabad-Amravati regions.

  2. India-Canada CEO Forum

    India and Canada have agreed to set up a CEO Forum. This forum will have its first meeting in Canada during the visit of the Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Mr Anand Sharma to Canada in May-June 2012.

    This was decided between Mr Sharma and his Canadian counterpart, Mr Ed Fast at a meeting at Davos, Switzerland recently.

    The two sides have also agreed to fast track the process of negotiations for a bilateral trade and investment agreement. The next meeting of officials for this agreement is slated later in February, reports said.
