Jaipur, January 7, 2012: On occasion of the 10th Pravsasi Bharatiya Divas, PBD 2012 scheduled from 7-9 January 2012, at Jaipur, Rajasthan, the Overseas Facilitation Centre organizes its 6th Market Place.

The OIFC Market Place was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs Shri Vayalar Ravi. A special attraction will be the pre-scheduled B2B meetings which offer the delegates the unique opportunity to build relationships with OIFC’s stakeholders in a relaxed environment conducive for business discussions in a series of one-on-one meetings.

Jaipur, January 8, 2012: The 10th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, PBD 2012 was inaugurated today,by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh with the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Trinidad & Tobago, Ms Kamla Persad Bissessar as the Chief Guest. Also present were Mr Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan; Mr Shivraj Patil, Governor of Rajasthan; Mr Vayalar Ravi, Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Govt of India; Mr Parvez Dewan, Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs and Mr B Muthuraman, President, CII.

The Prime Minister of India released the Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre’s publication “Returning Indian: All that you need to know”. The book has been compiled by the OIFC with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Private Limited as its Knowledge Partner. The book will be a reference point for Indians planning to return to India, This one point reference book will address the questions of “Returning Indians” and prove to be a useful repository of information about the regulatory and practical dimensions in India.

OIFC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Reunion Island (Chambre de Commerce et D’Industrie de la Reunion). This agreement will bring forth considerable mutual cooperation in relation to information exchange and business opportunities.

Jaipur, January 9, 2012: The third day of the 10th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, PBD 2012, had back to back sessions on various state NRI-centric initiatives and opportunities available in India scheduled over the day. The day started with the Chief Minister’s plenary session on “Global Indian: State Initiatives and Opportunities” where Hon’ble Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs Shri Vayalar Ravi welcomed the Chief Ministers from State of Gujarat, Goa, Jharkhand, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Each of them highlighted their state policies for investment and development explaining the state’s institutional support provided for the Overseas Indians.

The Chief Minister’s plenary session was followed by seven parallel State Sessions schedule at different halls at the Birla Auditorium. The participating states of Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan elaborated their state’s support provided to NRIs in details.
