Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) 2012, tenth in the series, brought together the Overseas Indian community with Indian policy makers and businesses, to celebrate as well as address common issues and challenges, from 7-9 January in Jaipur. The annual flagship convention of the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA), partnered by the Government of Rajasthan and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), focused on “Global Indian-Inclusive Growth”.
Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre (OIFC), in its sixth endeavour at PBD 2012, carried out its activities for expanding the economic engagement of the Pravasi Bharatiya delegates with India, with a difference.

Highlights of the Market Place
- Surpassing all earlier editions, 1400 Pravasis from 60 countries and a total of 2014 delegates, converged in Jaipur for PBD 2012, an annual celebration of business deliberations, bonding and networking, to connect India with its diaspora.
- Dr Manmohan Singh, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, inaugurated the PBD 2012, and Shri Vayalar Ravi, Hon’ble Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs; Ms Kamla Persad Bissessar, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Trinidad & Tobago and Shri Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, were some of the eminent leaders who attended the event.
- Shri Vayalar Ravi inaugurated the OIFC Pavilion at PBD 2012, along with Shri Ashok Gehlot and Mr Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII & Co-Chairman, OIFC.
- OIFC’s State Government Partners, Premium Knowledge Partners, Knowledge Partners, Associate Partners and Media Partners showcased their services at the OIFC Market Place Pavilion and interacted with the delegates to discuss various investment opportunities in India.
- Maintaining an impressive footfall of more than 1200 visitors, the forum witnessed 520 business interactions and meetings being held at the Market Place between the PBD delegates; PBD delegates and the OIFC Partners; and, OIFC Partners.
