OIFC Investment and Interactive Meet in United Arab Emirates

The Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre (OIFC), in association with the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA), Government of India and Consulate General of India, Dubai, hosted an Investment and Interactive Meet in Dubai, on 24th March this year. Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC), Dubai and the Indian Community Welfare Committee (ICWC) were the official partners of the Meet.
The Meet was organized with the whole objective to apprise the Indian diaspora with a host of business engagement opportunities existing in India and thereby providing the means to connect with India.
A delegation from India, led by Dr A Didar Singh, Secretary of MOIA and Chairman of OIFC, participated in the Meet to invite the Global Indians settled in UAE, to partner in ‘Emerging’ India’s growth story, and encourage them to strengthen their socio-economic connect with India. The business team included prominent players from the Indian industry in sectors of banking and financial services, construction and infrastructure, among others.
Organized at Hotel Crowne Plaza, the Meet was attended by more than 100 registered delegates comprising of professionals, HNIs and potential investors, of Indian origin, seeking to explore the growing Indian market. Where on one hand, the industry players from India presented the sector specific investment prospects, that India has on offer to the diaspora, Mr Shiv Ratan, Director of MOIA and Ms Shefali Chaturvedi, CEO of OIFC, informed the delegates about the various special purpose vehicles and other platforms set up for the diaspora to expand their financial, intellectual and philanthropic interlinkages with India.
A couple of interactive issues were raised and discussed during the Q&A session chaired by Dr Didar Singh and moderated by Mr Sanjay Verma, Consul General of India in Dubai. Besides the Secretary of MOIA and the Consul General, Dr E Ellangovan, Counselor of Indian Community Welfare, Mr Paras Shahdadpuri, President of IBPC and Mr K Kumar, Convenor of ICWC participated in the conference. Mr Yusuffali M.A, Managing Director of EMKE Group in UAE, a prominent overseas Indian, also attended the conference and addressed the delegates on the occasion.
The 2 hour conference was concluded over networking dinner at the venue.
