Conference on Public Private Partnership Policy Framework

CII Western Region is organizing the Conference on Public Private Partnership Policy Framework “Developing Healthcare PPP – Making it Work!!” with the support of Government of Gujarat, scheduled for 26 March 2011 at Ahmedabad.

PPPs in healthcare have been periodically articulated as an important part of the healthcare strategy by both the Prime Minister and the Union Health Minister and a Task Force for PPPs in the 11th Five Year Plan has prepared a draft report for the same.

However, long-term, sustainable partnerships have been few and far between; PPPs in healthcare have been more associated with controversy and roadblocks than with a constructive, collaborative win-win approach. Healthcare delivery is complex, and partnerships face a steep learning curve. State PPP cells which facilitate PPPs have focused more on PPPs in sectors like roadways and urban development than on Health.

Objective:

to bring all the stakeholders on a common platform,

learn from successful PPP case studies in the recent past and

brainstorm on legal and financial and administrative aspects which are the key to productive partnerships.
