CII Business Delegation to Zambia

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising a business delegation to Lusaka, Zambia accompanying Ms Preneet Kaur, Minister of State for External Affairs from June 21–23, 2011.

Zambia's bilateral trade with India is currently pegged at approximately US$ 190 million. Exports from India to Zambia grew at a CAGR of 7.4 per cent between 2005 and 2010, while imports grew at a CAGR of 26 per cent. In a bid to engage the private sector in the development of infrastructure and the delivery of social services, the Government of Zambia has enacted the Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) Act in 2009. Of 183 countries, Zambia ranks 76 on the "Ease of doing business" parameter, as against 84 in 2010.

The business delegation accompanying Minister of State will join meetings which CII in coordination with MEA and the India Mission propose to organise. CII is also working to organise meetings for its delegation with its MoU partners and local industry at the Business Seminar.
