Govt. of India, the MORT&H has decided to develop the following stretch of National Highways in Karnataka into Two lanes with Paved Shoulders under NHDP-IVA. Govt. of Karnataka is the "Authority" in implementing the below stretches of Highway:
- Kerala Border to Kollegal - Section of NH-212 [Km. 117.60 to Km. 268.40]
- Chitradurga to Shimoga - Section of NH-13 [Km. 422.00 to Km. 528.30]
A Memorandum Of Understanding between Ministry and State Government was signed on 27-08-2009 to develop these project stretches through Public Private Partnership on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (the "DBFOT") basis by State Government. On the instructions of the Ministry, the State Government has created one PPP cell headed by Superintending Engineer, two Project Implementing units headed by the Executive Engineer (Manager Technical) situated in Mysore and Shimoga and two Land Acquisition offices headed by Special Land Acquisition Officer along with the required pattern of staff on full time basis for speedy implementation of PPP Projects.
